R warcraftlore - The Tauren actually helped the night elves in the war of the ancients, but kept to themselves mostly. It was thrall and cairne, they pretty much bonded and Cairne swore to stay by his side. Thus throwing his lot in with the orcs. Despite the Cenarion Circle, the Tauren as a whole really don't like the night elves.
